„Il rifugio delle poiane“ stands for „the hawk´s nest“ or „the refuge for the hawks“ and it is the name of our magical, romantic old country house and estate in the country of Ripalbella, in Tuscany, Italy. It was built with pink and grey stones and completetly renovated according to the principles of bio-architecture. With 3 apartments, one meeting room of 80 qm or mixed dorm(~6 x 18 yards), two double rooms and 13 hectars of beautiful pasture land and forest.The house is on the top of a hill, surrounded by oak, olive and cork trees. On the horizon you can view the sea and the sunny islands of Elba, Capraia and Corsica. A few steps from the house we find a river, the „Torignanino“.The lovers of Toscany culture call the country of Riparbella the central point of a „magical triangle“, because it is located between Montescudaio (one of the most charming medieval cities of Tuscany), Casale Marittimo (one of the most beautiful beachs) and Riparbella. It is close to travel to many of the most interesting parts of Tuscany: Pisa, Florence, Saint Giaminano, Siena and Volterra. It is only 35 Km from Volterra, 35 Km from Pisa, 50 Km from S.Geminiano, 80 Km from Siena and 100 Km from Florence.The atmosphere of the place evoques silence, calls the spirit to relaxation, meditation and healing and helps one to come back to the natural psychophysical balance.This place is a special wildlife reserve. With deer, wild boars, birds and other animals. There are many beautiful paths for hiking and exploring in nature. We have also a pure stallion called Baba that goes around free enjoing the freedom you can have here.
