Amanzi Island Lodge in Knysna 

Amanzi Island Lodge has bicycles, canoes and paddle skis for you to use to explore the island and the lagoon. A terrace and patio provide the perfect setting for an evening drink from the honesty bar, watching the sun go down over the Knysna Heads and Featherbed Nature Reserve. On cooler evenings, the lodge also offers a comfortable lounge area. The lodge is named Amanzi after the South African word for water. This is because water is the first thing that greets you each morning and the last thing you will see at night, as you draw your curtains to a close.

Each morning you can enjoy a tasty breakfast as you watch the slow turning of the tides.

By Car:From Cape Town:- Take the N2.- Drive though Knysna Town, past the hospital, until you come to a Quick Spar and Caltex garage on your right. Take the next road right onto George Rex Drive.- Follow the signs to Leisure Isle. - Turn right onto the causeway onto Leisure Isle. - Once on the island, take the first left (Woodbourne Drive). - This road becomes Cearn drive. - Amanzi Lodge is number 31.

On the edge of the beautiful Knysna Lagoon, in the centre of the Garden Route, this spacious beach house offers a haven of peace and tranquility, complemented by spectacular views. Amanzi Island Lodge is the perfect place to base yourself for a few days as you explore the many activities of the Garden Route. During your stay you can enjoy anything from a simple game of golf to the highest bungee jump in the world (216 metres high!). You can also try a range of water-sports or explore the surrounding hiking trails. For a more relaxing stay, soak up the sun in Amanzi’s beautiful garden or by the swimming pool, or enjoy your book under the shelter of the large Milkwood tree, where you’ll be accompanied by sun-birds, turacos and the resident Burchell’s coucal.
