This hotel was completed by restoring and unifying 2 merchant houses dating from the 19th century. The traditional features and materials used in the building have been retained in the restoration. The hotel has been tastefully decorated combining contemporary, ethnic and more conventional elements and creating a comfortable and light space. The hotel also boasts a small garden, a huge roof terrace where breakfast is usually served and a library with a small film and music collection and free internet access.
The rooms are modern, spacious and fully-equipped.
The hotel has its own small restaurant open to the public, which serves excellent and diverse Andalusian cuisine. The menu reflects both the varied cuisine of the province of Cádiz, with traditional mountain village dishes to fish and seafood dishes. Local fresh produce is used in all the cooking. The unique wines of the Jerez triangle, such as finos, manzanilla, amontillados, palo cortados or Pedro Ximenez, feature on the wine list, together with an interesting selection of wines from other Spanish regions.
The hotel is located in the historic neighbourhood of Santiago that has traditionally produced many flamenco artists. There are shops, museums and sherry wine bodegas in this area. Jerez is the perfect place from which to explore the white-washed villages such as Arcos de la Frontera, Medina Sidonia, Ubrique, Grazalema, hills and nature reserves, that include the Alcornocales cork-oak forest. Throughout the year there are many interesting traditional “fiestas” and events to see.The nearest beaches are Rota, Chipiona, Puerto, then further along towards Algeciras you reach Conil, Palmar, Bolonia with its amazing Roman ruins, and then Tarifa, home to kite and board surfing.
This eco-friendly hotel is located in the neighbourhood of Santiago, the traditional gypsy quarter of Jerez and only 5 minutes from shops, restaurants and a vibrant nightlife. The hotel has been restored from former merchant houses and combines the traditional architectural and design elements, with a modern and comfortable interior. The rooms are light, spacious and fully equipped. In the hotel restaurant excellent traditional mountain and coastal village cuisine is served. This is the perfect base to explore the Andalusian coastline and the white washed villages of the interior. Not to mention the nearby cities of Seville and Cádiz.
