    Description Lodge on the Desert

The Spa at Lodge on the Desert is scheduled to open late fall 2009 as the final element of the Lodge's renovation. Guests may relax with a massage, facial or other body treatment. With 4 treatment rooms, the spa will be a true on-site indulgence.

One of Southern Arizona's most unique and charming Tucson accommodations is Lodge on the Desert. The authentic hacienda-style rooms and historic casitas, many of which feature tile-covered patios and fireplaces, afford guests a private enclave in which to relax, escape, and enjoy a few of life's simplest pleasures.

The intimate L-shaped restaurant is framed with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the private patio and seats 40 comfortably either banquette-style or at traditional table seating. Hand-painted wooden beams and authentic Mexican tin chandeliers accent the restaurant ceilings. The spacious, recently expanded saltillo-tiled outdoor patio features a 4-sided fireplace and seats 50+. Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, the restaurant's diverse menu reflects Tucson's southwestern heritage. The newly appointed Lodge bar is an ideal spot to relax and enjoy cocktails, wines and a variety of appetizers in a comfortable setting.

Originally a private residence opened with only seven guest rooms in November, 1936, Lodge on the Desert proudly remains an Arizona landmark and a Tucson tradition, renowned for its intimate residential setting and genial hospitality. With its USD 15 million dollar expansion and renovation scheduled to conclude mid 2009, Lodge accommodations overall have grown to 103 units, including 13 suites. Here, secluded pathways meander amongst regal palms, native cacti and manicured lawns wrapped in ribbons of seasonal flowers. Charming hacienda-style accommodations afford guests a sanctuary in which to retreat and relax. It is truly Tucson's urban oasis. Against the majestic backdrop of the Santa Catalina Mountains, the Lodge's charming rooms and spacious suites welcome discerning travelers to a desert garden paradise that only nature and time could create. From here, the best of Tucson is at your doorstep.
