All of the 5 rooms available are tastefully furnished and attractively decorated. Each room is comfortable and well equipped, with all the comforts and facilities you need in a restful, relaxing base, including complimentary hospitality trays. Hairdryers and ironing facilities are available on request. Whether you are exploring the Lake District on foot or visiting the area for a restful, restorative holiday, the comfortable, peaceful rooms provide a relaxing haven.
A full cooked English breakfast is included in the room rate and is available from 08:30 to 09:30 every day, in the dining room. The generous breakfast is a great way to start your day, whatever you have planned.
Lingmoor is a great base to explore the area, ideal for walking, relaxing and taking a cruise on the lake. There are plenty of pubs, bars and good restaurants in Windermere, Bowness and Ambleside. Complimentary leisure facilities are also on offer at the nearby Windermere Manor and guests are also entitled to 2 for 1 golf discount vouchers, which are valid at many of the local courses. There really is something for everyone here and there are many great ways to see the area, from touring the region in your car, to using the local tour services, the open-top local bus or the Lakeside & Haverthwaite Steam Railway. The Lake District is famous for its stunning scenery and its walking, with hundreds of trails crisscrossing the region. You can also explore the area via mountain bike and there are many mountain bike trails throughout the Lake District, from the challenging to the relatively simple. You could also enjoy horse riding, fishing, 4x4 off-roading and quad biking nearby. For the quieter stay, Windermere has many theatres, art galleries, museums and a lovely Art Deco cinema that shows the latest films.
By Car: - The accommodation is situated at the quieter end of Windermere village. - Leave the M6 motorway at junction 36 and take the A591, following the signs towards Windermere.- Windermere is approximately 16 miles from junction 36.- As you approach the village, you will see the Windermere Hotel situated on the right. - Take the 2nd turning on the left, on to Elleray Road.- Then take the 1st left into the High Street. - Lingmoor is the 3rd house on the right-hand side/By Train/Coach:Lingmoor Guest Accommodation is 2 to 3 minutes’ walk from Windermere’s train and coach station. Leave the station and turn left, passing the tourist information centre on the left-hand side. Head down into Windermere, crossing the main road immediately and taking the right-hand fork past the Lakes Hotel on the left-hand side. Lingmoor is 20 metres further on, on the left-hand side.
This charming traditional Lakeland house offers comfortable accommodation in a great location, in the centre of the village of Windermere, in the heart of the beautiful Lake District.The superb location makes Lingmoor Guest Accommodation a great base from which to explore the stunning natural beauty and breathtaking scenery of the Lake District, which so inspired Wordsworth, Wainwright and Beatrix Potter. Windermere’s train and coach station is just a 3-minute walk away and all of the town’s pubs and restaurants are within easy walking distance.This family-run house was built in 1854, by and for the local railway, which arrived in Windermere at that time. Today, the house still retains its beautiful original exterior, its slate roof and several other lovely period features. There are 5 comfortable, modern en suite rooms with showers, each of which is well-equipped with a colour television and tea/coffee making facilities.
