In late 1917, Wilfred Owen was posted to a reserve battalion, based at The Clifton Hotel, (then known as The Clarence Gardens Hotel). By Car:From the A64 or A170:- Following either of these roads into Scarborough will bring you to Falsgrave Road.- Turn left off Falsgrave Road onto Victoria Road.- Continue through to Castle Road.- Take the first exit at the traffic circle onto North Marine Road.- Take the 3rd right onto Queen's Parade. The hotel is just around the next corner.From the A171:- Heading South towards Scarborough, exit the A171 at Burniston via the A165 (Coastal Road).- Follow the A165 into Scarborough and take the first exit after the roundabout into Peasholm Road.- Take the next left into Queen's Parade.
