Take time to explore the bustling village of Long Melford. Known as the Antiques Capital of the region, it is one of Suffolk's most picturesque villages. During the 15th century it was a thriving centre of the local wool industry. The village is aptly named after its extremely long High Street, which is lined with thatched cottages and half timbered houses. Melford Green slopes down to the village from the 15th century village church, famous for its exquisite stone, wood carvings and priceless stained glass window. The River Stour is only a stone's throw away from the hotel, and in the village are 2 stately homes, Kentwell Hall and Melford Hall.
