The Sun Hotel & Bar in Lancaster 

Since the current owners bought The Sun Hotel in 2003, they have carefully rebuilt it.The Sun Hotel is a listed building situated in the Lancaster Castle Conservation Area. As a result, it was impossible to add a lift - the 1st and 2nd floors are accessed by stairs.

We have a wide selection of rooms ranging from our small budget through to our luxury suite with 2 flat-screen televisions, stand alone bath and separate seating area.

The hotel is situated in the very centre of Lancaster, within yards of the castle and all the city's other attractions. We are fortunate to be within 100 yards of Parksafe car park which is staffed 24 hours a day. The hotel is convenient both for the train and bus station, both are within 5 minutes’ walk. The Lake District is on Lancaster's doorstep and many people choose to utilise Lancaster as a stopping-off point en route to the Lakes.

By CarIf travelling by car we recommend parking at Parksafe car park which is less than 100 yards from the hotel. Due to Lancaster's one-way system, we advise our guests to park at Parksafe (St George's Quay) first. The car park is clearly signed on the one-way system.From the train station:The train station is approximately 500 yards from the hotel and an easy 5-10 minute walk. From the bus station:The bus station is less than 300 yards away.
