The guest house is just over half a mile from Bath. The property has fabulous views across the city and the Avon Valley. It is also a perfect base from which to visit Longleat, Stourhead Gardens, Cheddar and The Cotswolds.
By CarFrom the M4:- Exit the M4 at junction 18. - Take the A46 towards Bath (about10 miles).- At the bottom, stay on the left-hand side of the dual carriageway. You will come to a large roundabout with traffic lights. - Take the 1st exit left, signposted to Batheaston. After several hundred metres you will pass the Wagon and Horses Pub on the right. - Take the next right turn, signposted to Bathampton. - After the toll bridge (with fee), stay on this road for about 2 miles, through Bathampton and up to a T junction. - Turn right onto the A36 Warminster Road. You will see the Tasburgh House sign on the right.
Award-winning Tasburgh House is a luxurious Victorian guest house set in seven acres of gardens overlooking Bath. Located just a few minutes from the Georgian city of Bath, enjoy the beauty of the city itself and the Thermae baths or for the sports fans we are just an hour train ride into Cardiff and an hour's drive to Cheltenham. The hotel is set in peaceful English countryside with magnificent views over the city, we have friendly and helpful staff who are always available to assist. After extensive refurbishment, the property offers twelve individual en suite bedrooms with charming public rooms and combines Victorian elegance and tasteful decor with all the modern comforts of a good hotel. The hotel has been awarded five diamonds by both the AA and the RAC and won 'Best Hotel' in our category by Which? Hotel Guide 2005. All the rooms have shower or bath and shower en suite, colour television, direct dial telephone with wake-up service and wireless broadband access, beverage tray, hairdryer, fresh flowers and magazines. The public rooms include an elegant drawing room, dining room, a stunning conservatory and adjacent garden terrace. An interesting wine list has been prepared in liaison with a leading West Country wine merchant. In addition to the formal gardens and croquet lawn, the seven acres include a meadow park extending down to the Kennet and Avon canal - perfect for the morning stroll.
There is a 2-night minimum stay over weekends and a 3-night minimum stay over public holidays. Children are accepted, but parents are requested to respect other guests, particularly when in the dining room.
