This large Baroque Dutch-style building with 5 axes was built between 1740 and 1742. In about 1751 it was the residence of Wilhelm Bock, court painter of Frederick the Great and the man responsible, among others, for the construction of the Belvedere on the Klausberg.
The central location of the hotel lends itself well to day trips to the numerous attractions of Potsdam. Through good transport links via the S-Bahn (urban railway network) a trip to the Germany's capital, Berlin, is also easily possible.
The Hotel zum Hofmaler is situated in the Dutch quarter at the heart of the historical town of Potsdam, where history is alive. Our building comprises a lovingly renovated Dutch house and a modern extension.Through its central location, the hotel presents the perfect starting point from which to discover by foot the numerous sights and attractions of the area, including of course the Prussian palaces and gardens.
