Azienda Agrituristica Duca di Castelmonte is about 5 kilometres far from Trapani city. It is an estate of eight hectares, where olive trees, vegetables, fruit trees and various greenhouse vegetables grow all year round.The ancient “baglio, where the Curatolo family still lives and guests lodgings are surrounded by a luxuriant garden, full of age-old trees and ornamental plants.The farm has at its disposition many independent little flats which have been obtained from what once was used as store house, stables and barns.Trapani is a peninsular city that stands on the slopes of Monte S. Giuliano at the top of which rises Erice, a medieval village of extraordinary beauty. Economy of Trapani has always been grounded on the sea resources more than on the land ones; our coral manufacturing is renowned. Ferryboats and hydrofoils link up Trapani with the dry-land and with the isles of Favignana, Levanzo, Marettimo and Pantelleria.Segesta with its temple and its theatre, which date back, respectively, to the V and III century B.C., is about 30 Km. far from Trapani. Along the southern coast of the town, advancing toward Marsala, you can admire the salt-works with their mills, some of which are still operative, and the natural reserve of Lo Stagnone with the Phoenician Isle of Mothia. The northern coast develops in a long succession of seashores and cliffs which, from the pink shoreline of S. Vito lo Capo, through the rock of Cala’ Mpisu and the stacks of Scopello, lead us across the wild-life reserve of Lo Zingaro and join our district of Trapani with that of Palermo.
