The Batavia Hotel's grandiose facade is built in rigorous colonial style, reflecting the historic character of the district, and the hotel's name is derived from the Dutch colonial name for Jakarta. The hotel's glittering lobby continues the colonial golden age theme, with many features reminiscent of the 1930's. However this hotel is not only about past glories, as it combines the old style of the last century with all of the luxury of the new.
