Calendula Guest House in Amsterdam 

CALENDULA GUEST HOUSE was built in 1735. There were many small 'hoftjes' (courtyards with small houses) for widows and singles in the Jordaan. A Hoftje is a 17th century courtyard with dwellings off the courtyard.

In 1930 there were 58 hoftjes in Amsterdam, from which no less than 21 where situated in the Jordaan. The Amsterdam Jordaan is undoubtedly the most sung about, described and romanced town district of the Netherlands.

Started as a district for the poor, today it is a favorite place for students, artists and young professionals.

The new inhabitants of the Jordaan, together with the people that stayed behind from the early days, make this neighborhood a pleasant place with a mixture of all kinds of styles and activities.

First floor with two bedrooms, double bed in each room with optional single bed and two futon couch beds. Baby bed on request. Full bath room with large bath tub shower and toilet..

The house has 2 bedrooms on the first floor. The Amsterdam room faces the front of the house and the corner of 2 quiet streets. The room has a double bed and a single bed, with an optional futon couch bed or a baby bed. Extra beds incur additional €35 euro per night or €200/week.

The Garden room faces our neighbors court yard known as a Hoftje. The Garden room has one double bed and an optional futon couch bed. Between the two bedrooms is a bathroom with full bath tub and shower, 2 sinks and a toilet.

The space is ideal for 2 couples sharing, or a family with parents in the Garden room and children in the Amsterdam room.

Ground floor with full kitchen, table with six chairs, living room, couch opens to queen size bed, sun room, toilet, DVD, CD, wifi or airport internet, fireplace, fully equipped kitchen with dishes, pots, pans, full refrigerator, stove with four burners and oven.
