FOOD and DRINK EXPENSES: These costs can really vary from one place to the next so I can only give you an idea about how much you need to budget. Local bakeries operate out of site from the beachfront but provide the most economical breakfast with P20 of pan de sal with instant coffee and milk which you can buy from a small store; many local cottage style resort could supply you with hot water. Filipino style homecooked rice toppings can be found along the road between Station 3 and the main "backbone" road from only P15 to P30 + P7 for rice!!. Also near the market are small, "Turo Turo" ( displaying a few pots which you point to the "ulam" or rice topping you want ) style eateries which will cost you only P30 to P50 for either breakfast or lunch.These dishes are made in the morning so it's best to eat up until 1PM when the food is still fresh. The English Bakery has two locations but charges from P85 to P180 for most breakfasts. Happy Hour from 4PM to 8PM is the best time for beer drinkers to tip up multiple cold San Miguel Beers offered at many places on the beachfront at P30 to P40 each nearly the same as bottled water!! At locations with live music San Miguel is P60 and other places with a good sound system at P40. And don't forget the local RUM is less than P50 / liter so it's possible to mix your own rum and coke because you can also buy ice in small plastic bags good for many drinks. Casa Camilla serves cold San Miguel Beer for only P30. DINNER: The evening buffets for hungry travelers are the best bargain offered on the south side of the middle of the white beach at SECS, DALISAY & BAMBOO buffets charging P185 to P250 ( P150 often during low season ) for ALL you can Eat. ( plus drinks ). Also at a nearby local family's Sailor's Restaurant, near the PAL office / Marzon Resort, next to Kurtz German / Filipino Restaurant ( just a few meters inside) you can enjoy a very good tasting meal from P80 to P120. Sailor's menu is near the telephone at Casa Camilla and they deliver from 7AM to 10PM. Our Boracay staff can also cook you a Filipino breakfast at Casa Camilla for P70. We just tried the Boracay Regency Buffet for P470 each and were impressed with the quality of the choices, fresh lettuce salad, complete with balsalmic vinegar and olive oil and choice of pasta and sauce prepared fresh in front of you. The D'Mall area in the middle of the beach has a huge variety of restaurants and fast food outlets so send us your favorite restaurant in Boracay during your stay so we can share it with other guests. 4 or 5 DAY HOLIDAY BUDGET: 50% of Boracay Resorts rent their cottage/ rooms with electric fan rent for P500 to P1000 / day / 2 persons so plan on P500/ day / person and air-conditioned cottages can be rented from P980 to P2000. For meals budget P200 to P400 / day/ person so a if you bring a total of P5000 each with your transport already paid you should have enough for a GREAT PARTY or ROMANTIC HOLIDAY on the BEACH. If you're not a drinker and / or come during off season you can have enough left over to do some souvenir shopping. When compared to the cost of going out in most of Metro-Manila or Cebu City's major shopping malls it's a REAL BARGAIN which allows you to feel rejuvenated and stress FREE, ready to back to the hectic pace of large city career life. Also going overland via the "RoRo" system of buses and ferries is possible for about P1000 ( U$22 ) or a bit less one way if each "leg" paid separately; 1) JAM Bus Station in Manila on Taft Ave near corner of Buendia east side of the street or other bus companies in the Cubao area, takes 2 +hours ( P170 ) departing every half hour / hour to BATANGAS PIER depending on the time of the day, 2) then take the fast ferry to Calapan, Mindoro ( P230 / 1-1/2 to 2+ hours ) leaving every hour or two ( two companies operate ) from 6AM to 6PM or the round the clock slower ferries ( P180/ 2-1/2 to 3 hours ) 3) Then take one of the private vans waiting / parked going to ROXAS , MINDORO ( P190 / 2hr-15 min to 2-1/2 hours ) 4 ) Then take one of the six daily ferries ( P330 / 4 to 5 hours ) to Caticlan Station ; 6AM, 12 Noon, 8PM, 10 PM 12 Midnight 2AM From Late November to June from Caticlan the charge for a local, large "banca" , or outrigger is only P20 to Boracay + the DENR fee of P20, to Cagban, the new jetty port located on the southern most tip of Boracay Island as of APRIL 1, 2005. From June to November after the winds change you will arrive on the opposite side of the island from the main beach and take a tricycle from there to TREE HOUSE RESORT formerly the ALYSSA RESORT ( which most tricycle drivers know it as ), in ANGOL, White Beach; you will be let off exactly 49 meters from the main white beach path, TURN RIGHT, at 16 meters of the 50 meters to Casa Camilla our sign can be seen, located past Surfside Resort next to the 357 Resort, both neighbor resorts with average room rates of U$100 to U$150 / night!!!
