Vlore is located in southwestern Albania, at the meeting point of the Aegean Sea and the Adriatic Sea. It is Albania’s second largest port and has a population of about 120,000.
Founded in sixth century BC, Vlora is one of the oldest cities of Albania; important events in the struggle for independence have taken place here.
The climate in Vlora is ideal all year long and the temperature ranges from 17°C to 33°C. The best months to visit the place are April, May and September.
Vlore is a major sea port and commercial centre. Important establishments of the Albanian Navy are also located in the city. Its fishing and industrial sectors (petroleum and natural gas) are huge and its agricultural sector (olives and fruit trees) is rapidly growing in importance as well.
