Tourist Guide Encamp

Located on the Riu River, Encamp is one of the oldest parishes of Andorra. It is situated 27 kilometres from the French border crossing point (Pas de la Cosa) along the main France-Andorra-Spain highway. Encamp can only be entered by road.

Encamp is a typical Andorra town, small and picturesque. It lies on the broad valley in the centre of the Principality of Andorra and is surrounded by mountains and fertile plains. It is 1,300 metres above the sea level.

Encamp has a temperate climate, with warm, dry summers and snowy winters. Since Encamp is essentially a winter holiday destination, an ideal time to visit it is between the months December and March.

With approximately 12,000 inhabitants, Encamp’s economy is supported mainly by tourism, cattle-rearing and the generation of hydro-electric power.
