Tourist Guide Bad Gastein
Bad Gastein, a spa resort in the middle of the Hohe Tauern National Park, is situated in the state of Salzburg. Located in Austria, Bad Gastein’s thermal springs are considered to be of great therapeutic value. The city has a total population of around 5,600 inhabitants.
The city has an ideal climate, characterised by cold temperatures, abundant snowfall and a fog-free atmosphere.
The area is believed to have been inhabited by the Romans more than two thousand years ago. It was the thermal spring waters that brought the village out into the open. During the twentieth century, the area became a major European politics centre.
The inhabitants of Bad Gastein are firm followers of Paganism, which includes Krampus, a demonic character. Tourism is the main source of economy in the city.Explore map
