Tourist Guide Bad Ischl
Located at an altitude of 468 metres, Bas Ischl is an imperial town in the southern part of upper Austria, in the area known as Salzkammergut. The town in situated on a peninsula between the Traun River and its tributary, the Ischl.
The town is characterized by tropical climate. Summers are warm and pleasant while winters are very cold with temperatures plummeting.
The city, with approximately 14,000 inhabitants, exhibits a fine confluence of modernity and tradition. It is a popular tourist destination and provides the visitor with outstanding scenic beauty and a variety of recreation options which include spas, ice-skating, skiing as well as shopping.
Reputed as the best health resort of Austria, it is famous for its stylish and fancy spas. Incidentally, the word ‘bad’ means ‘spa’.
