The Cathedral of St. James is based on the designs by the Baroque architect, Johann Herkommer. This church was rebuilt between 1717 and 1724 on the site of an earlier Gothic Church. Also known by the name, Dom zu St. Jakob, it is fine example of the 18th century Baroque style. The interior of the building was decorated by two brothers from Munich, Cosman Damian, the painter and Egid Quirin, the sculptor.
