Linz: Attractions and more...
No doubt the best periods to enjoy Linz in all its glamour is summer for the great number of festivals and seasonal initiatives, but autumn will be great though!
Nice is to have a walk in the Old Town where lots of nice houses, in patrician style, can be admired, getting in touch with the past and its witnesses of true beauty!
Shopping is the other great alternative to get around this extraordinary city and why not, strike a bargain in one of its shops or better have a walk through the flea-market, who knows?
It is an occasion not to be missed, in summer, on Saturday, just in the centre of town!
Not to be missed are the main street, Landstrasse, the main square, in the middle of which stands the Pestsäule, to commemorate the victims of the plague or black death, the Castle and its surrounding area, where the most antique among austrian churches stands, St. Martin’s.
In the city are also numerous historical buildings which deserve a visit including the Church of St. Martin in roman style, the baroque cathedral, the city hall of the same period, and the new neo-Gothic cathedral of the 20th century.
