The city centre of Steyr is home to an amazing array of architectural masterpieces such as the Bummerlhaus (the town emblem) and the Parish Church. Christkindl Parish and Pilgrimage Church is a remarkable baroque building and is also famous for its Christmas post office.
The Lamberg Castle is a towering structure which was originally built in 980 and then rebuilt in 1727 as a Baroque palace, after an extensive town fire. The famous museums here are the World of Work Museum, House of Local History, Steyr Municipal Museum and Museum of Tiled Stoves.
Another noteworthy building of Steyr is the city hall, or Rathaus, built in the eighteenth century. A memorable experience of nature is provided in the Limestone Alps National Park. Also, the city is surrounded by splendid scenic beauty and numerous tiny villages that provide warmth and comfort to its visitors.
