The Naschmarkt is a permanent market place offering fruits, spices, vegetables, meat, fish, etc from all parts of the world. This huge outdoor market place is the most prominent market of Vienna. It is situated between Karlsplatz and
Kettenbruckengasse. There is more to this market than simply a flea market. It is a unique mixture of Austrian traditions and oriental influences which dates back to the 16th century. It is a place where Viennese shrewdness meets the bazaar mentality. The market is known to be a place to shop whilst in Vienna for goodies and to have lunch at any one of the many stalls, restaurants and coffee shops. On Saturdays, the market sells anything from junk to antiques. The highlight of one’s tour to this city is incomplete without visiting the Naschmarkt which is known as Nibbles Market. The market has it all for any person who would like to take with him a souvenir of this amazing place.
