The Kunsthistorisches Museum is housed in the festive palatial building on Ringstrabe, in Vienna. Crowned with an octagonal dome, the museum is one of the premier museums of decorative arts and fine arts in the world.
Established between 1872 and 1891, the museum has had 619,318 visitors in 2007.
This is the most significant European museum buildings built during the 19th century. One of the most important objects here is the Cellini Salt Cellar by Benvenuto Cellini.
