Leopold Museum is a famous museum of modern art in Vienna. It is located at the Museum Quarter 7, Museumsplatz 1 in Vienna. This is the whole and sole place where one can see the largest collection of Austrian modern art.
It is the place which features the largest collection of Egon Schiele. It holds more than 5, 000 exhibits. All these are collected by Rudolf Leopold and his wife Elisabeth Leopold.
They have been collecting these astonishing pieces for more than 5 decades. These were consolidated under one museum in 1994. However, the museum was opened in the year 2001.
Visitors can see spectacular creations and paintings by Gustav Klimt. Some of the 19th century sculptures and paintings are also preserved in this museum along with other artifacts.
The top floor is dedicated to the artworks created pre- war and post- war. The museum remains open from 10 am to 7 pm daily, except Tuesday.
