Also known by the name Tiergarten Schönbrunn or Vienna Zoo, this zoo is situated on the grounds of the Schonbrunn Palace in Vienna, Austria.
This zoo was founded in 1752 as an imperial menagerie and is known as the oldest zoo in the world. This zoo is one of the few zoos in the world to house giant pandas. Other attractions include a rainforest house, an aquarium and an exhibit of animals in unnatural habitats.
In 1906, the zoo saw the birth of the first elephant in its captivity.
