The city of Gomel boasts of a long and rich history and this has rendered an extremely medieval character to the place. There are numerous historical and architectural monuments in the city. The streets and pathways are lined with unique structures and buildings; a leisurely stroll around the city centre allows one to absorb the true essence of the place.
The most spectacular sight here is a monument which dates back to the eighteenth century; the palace and park ensemble including the palace of the aristocrats.
Other attractions of the place include the catholic church of Bernardines and Cistercians in Mozyr, the church and the college of Jesuits in Kalinkovichy and the St. Nicholas church in Petrikov. The chapel of the Dukes Paskevichies is also worth a visit.
