Tourist Guide Minsk
The city of Minsk is the capital of Belarus and is located at an altitude of 220 m above sea level on the Svislach and Niamiha rivers. It is the headquarters of the Commonwealth of Independent States and is the most important administrative centre of Belarus.
The city is characterised by a moderate climate, with warm summers and cold winters. The climate is generally humid and the place receives rainfall almost all through the year.
Minsk boasts of an exciting history. More than 900 years old, the city has seen the Mongolian assault, followed by Lithuanian and Polish rule and the Russian reign. It was completely devastated during the World War II. Subsequently, it was rebuilt, and it sprang back to life quickly enough, owing to the massive industrialization.
