Things to Do in Dinant: attractions to See in Dinant

Dinant: Attractions and more...

The most important structure in the city is the Collegiate Church of Notre-Dame, the former Gothic styled Romanesque church which was originally built in the thirteenth century.

The Citadel, which stands atop a 100 m cliff, was rebuilt by the Dutch in 1820 after the original fortification—built in 1031—was destroyed by the French. Inside, there is a Museum of Armaments, audio-visual presentation, a terrace and restaurant and an outstanding view of the town lying beneath.

Grotte La Merveilleuse is a show cave of Belgium which features splendid waterfalls and stalactites.

A deep trench in the Ardennes plateau lies to the south of Dinant and is a breathtaking sight, with huge rocks on one side of the river and a Renaissance castle surrounded by classical gardens, on the other. Boat trips as well as kayaking on the River Muse can also be undertaken.
