The city is home to the oldest Belgian football clubs, the KV Machelen and Racing Mechelen, which were founded in 1904. One can watch the match which is quite interesting to see. This city is famous for Mechlin lace, which one can purchase from provided shops known explicitly for sale of such laces.
There is the Brusselpoort which is one of the city’s 12 gates built in 13th century. There is the palace of Margaret of York which is now the City Theater and oldest renaissance building.
