There is the Sainte Waudru collegiate church and the belfry which is worth visiting while in Mons. This church is a good site of the Gothic architecture of Brabant. Then there is the central square and the town hall of Mons with befry in its background which can be worth visiting. This city hall was moved on the grand place in the 13th century. This flamboyant gothic building dates from the 15th century. There is a statue of monkey, and it is said that whoever pats his head, he gets good fortune.

There are some amazing sights in the city. The neighboring befry which is classified as a World Heritage Site dates from the 17th century and is known as the only Baroque style belfry in Belgium.

There is the Doudou festival which is for a week long and originates from the 14th century. This festival takes place each year on Trinity Sundays. There is the Lumecon fight wherein Saint George confronts the dragon. This fight lasts for half an hour with rthythmic “Doudou” music.
