Brussels South Charleroi Airport also known as Charleroi Airport is situated to the north of Charleroi near central Brussels.
More than two million passengers used the airport in the year 2007 and a new terminal with a capacity of five million passengers a year has recently opened in January 2008.
The airport is owned and operated by the Government of Walloon region.
There are various ways in which one can reach the airport including local TEC buses which operate from here to Charleroi station in Brussels every 45 minutes.
The new airport is easily accessible by the highway from Brussels. The various airlines operating from this airport include Wizz Air, On Air, Jet4you, Ryanair and Jetairfly.
The various facilities provided at the airport include a tourist help desk, a number of shops, book shop, boutique, VIP lounge, duty free shop, restaurants and cafeterias, business center with state of the art facilities, disabled facilities, baby room, ATM, banks, internet stands and more
