René Magritte Museum is situated at Rue Esseghem 135, 1090 Brussels. The said location was the house of a surrealist painter of Belgium for almost twenty-four years. It remains open from Wednesday to Sunday from 10:00AM to 6:00PM. During the summer, the time extends to 09:00PM.
The museum has a permanent exhibition which is spread on two-floors displaying over four-hundred documents from the biographical journey of Magritte.
These consist of adverts, correspondence, mascots and surrealist brochures. More than thirty drawings, paintings and gouaches are on display. Notable names include “La lampe d’Aladin”, “Lola de Valence” and “Olympia”.
Excellent work from other surrealistic artists like Marien, Rachel Baes, and Masens and others are also proudly showcased here. Guided tours are available and the museum also has an art-shop which maintains an extensive catalogue of all artwork from Magritte.
