Although Le Cercueil translates literally to “The Coffin,” its customers are always very lively. Located on Rue des Harengs in Brussels, Belgium, Le Cercueil really does use caskets as tables. So why would a bar have such a morose theme? Well it’s simple. To pique the interest of adventurous travelers like you!
Le Cercueil has been around for 35 years and offers an impressive collection of beer and cocktails. For the beer drinkers, the popular one is most certainly the Sudden Death. For the cocktail lovers, there is Blood of Vampire, Elixir of the Virgin, Juice of a Corpse, Hemoglobin of the Bat, and Sperm of the Devil. But perhaps the cocktail that receives the most fascination is the Descent into Hell, as it is especially potent and cheap.
Visitors can indulge in their favorite beverage served in a skull at Le Cercueil, as well as enjoy the unwelcoming décor. Unfortunately the bar only accepts cash, but it has fantastic drink specials and is open from 8 pm to 6 am. It also offers a private room for events such as bachelor parties, or birthday celebrations. Take a walk on the wild side and visit Le Cercueil!
