Madame Moustache et son Freakshow is one of those venues with such an intriguing name, that you are bound to end up there at some point during your visit to Brussels. Located in the Sainte-Catherine district, it is most certainly a hub for young people, and is believed by many to be the hippest bar in town as well as a hot spot for great live music.
The décor is most certainly in keeping with the overall theme of the bar, as it provides a folk/freak ambiance with an old school circus vibe. It also has a great bar and stage set up for all kinds of musical acts. The venue plays different music every night, and depending on the theme of the evening, you may be listening to 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, electro, swing, jazz, or one of the many variations of contemporary Rock ‘n’ Roll.
The bar also offers some great beers that are unique to Belgium, such as the Tripel Karmeliet and other strong ales.
Known as the “neo cabaret of Brussels,” Madame Moustache’s et son Freakshow will surely not disappoint. But in order to see the “trained wild humans” the venue advertises, you will have to check it out for yourself!
