Be it in Brussels or any other city in Belgium, tourists are advised to take precautionary measures while travelling alone. There are several parts of the city which should be avoided during the late night hours. For instance, the areas near Gare Du Nord, Boulevard Albert II and Rue de Brabant are infamous. There are a large number of criminal gangs active in the city and muggings by these gangs have been reported. Tourists are advised to stay away from isolated and inhospitable areas. Despite possible dangers, it’s not likely that a tourist will be faced with a problem which is not ‘invited’. Tourists should avoid possible problem creating situations or clear tourist traps. Rue Des Bouchers is one such trap for tourists. This is a famous street which is packed with many restaurants. These restaurants boast that they offer all types of non vegetable dishes, but offer only fish. This can be a huge disappointment for visitors.
