The public transport is run by TEC, known as the Transport En Commun. This is the Walloon public transport company in Charleroi. The greater Charleroi region is actually served by bus lines. There is a light rail metro system, known as the Metro Leger de Charleroi. The light rail metro is also popular for commuting of the Vicinal, a former Belgian national tramway network.
