Tourist Guide Dinant
Dinant is a cosy little town located on the banks of the Meuse River in the Belgian Ardennes. The city lies 25 km south of Namur and has a population of approximately 13,000 residents.
The city of Dinant is characterised by a temperate climate, with warm summers and cold, snowy winters. The place receives rainfall almost all through the year.
The town boasts of a rich and eventful history, dating back to the seventh century when it was first mentioned in the chronicles. It was already an established settlement in the Neolithic, Celtic and Roman times. Its strategic location periled the city to battle and plunder and it suffered extreme devastation during both the World Wars.
