Liege is the 3rd largest town in Belgium and Belgium has a well connected transport system with several tram, train, bus and metro lines which are efficient and cheap.

Domestic train travel in Belgium is cheap and is operated by SNCB or NMBS.

One can save by taking B rail passes and return travel tickets for the weekend. Booking needs to be done in advance as buying from the guard directly can be expensive.

There are International train connections as well with Germany, France, the Netherlands and other parts of Europe.

The International airport is Zaventum in Brussels and smaller provincial airports in Liege as well as Antwerp.

From Liege airport you can travel to holiday destinations.

The public transport in the city of Liege includes trains from Liege Guillemins, TEC buses or taxis.

However, the taxis in Liege cannot be found on the streets, they have to be called by phone or are found at special ranks.

They are metered and tariffs vary depending on your location, that is, whether you are on the outskirts or within the city.
