Spa: Attractions and more...
The most famous natural water wells in this water-city of Belgium include the ‘Pouhon Pierre Le Grand’ and the ‘Pouhon Prince-de-Condé’. Apart from the springs, the Leopold II gallery, a late nineteenth century gallery which is beautifully decorated and illuminated with gas lanterns, is definitely worth a visit.
The Place Royale, a famous park also known as ‘Le Parc de sept-heures’ by the locals, is frequented by most visitors for their evening walk. The Hotel Brittanique, which was the German headquarters during the World War I, has now been converted to a boarding school.
Other places of interest include Rue Royale, a casino which dates back to 1920, and a Bath House of the same time, which is built in a neo-classicist style and offers curing baths as well as beauty treatments.
