Clearly the major attraction is the act of pilgrimage, which centres on the sites of the apparitions and the village parish church of St. James. The latter is run by the Franciscan Fathers.
Despite the number people, visitors report an atmosphere of peace and tranquillity conducive to prayer and meditation.
Accommodation is mostly in small, friendly family-run hotels, accompanied by delicious, home-cooking made with natural local ingredients.
Favourite pastimes include browsing in stores, selling rosaries and other religious paraphernalia and hiking in the clean mountain air and gorgeous scenery.
The climb up Mt. Krizevac is not too strenuous and at the summit the top you will be rewarded with a beautiful view.
