Since the end of the war in 1995, major reconstruction progress has been made. In July 2005, UNESCO put the Old Bridge onto the World Heritage List.
The oldest bridge in Mostar, the Kriva Cuprija (1558), is thought to be a prototype for the building of the Stari Most. Crossing the latter is always a thrill and marks the ancient point where East and West met.
The oldest mosque in Mostar, the Cejvan Cehaj (1552), is on the right.
The Old Bazaar, Kujundziluk, where goldsmiths traditionally made and sold their goods, is where to shop for paintings and copper or bronze carvings.
The Koski Mehmed pasa Mosque, (1617) is open to visitors. Nearby is the Tepa Market, a market place since Ottoman times, selling fresh produce from Herzegovina.
The Partisan Memorial Cemetery is located on Bijeli Brijeg, a green part of town, ideal for a relaxing walk and great view of the city.
