The District Museum of History houses historical artefacts and the Museum of Nature and Science is worth a visit as for its 1,300 species of insects, fish and reptiles. The Armenian Church, Philharmonic Hall and Opera House make it a complete cultural experience.
For the outdoor minded, the lakes of Atanassovo and Mandren on the outskirts of Burgas are ornithological reserves as well as sites for fishing and swimming.
Those visiting in March can watch classic films as part of the Sofia International Film Festival. Burgas is dotted with restaurants, beer-houses and taverns. Restaurants like the National, Staryat Pristan and Kadiffe offer live music and entertainment as well.
The city’s bus station is located next to the railway station in the town centre. Buses and private carriers leave from here for city tours and to travel to resorts along the coast. No trip to Burgas is complete without a visit to the sea.
