Devin is known best for its natural attractions. The Bedenski Mineral Bath is a well-known spa-tourism resort. The Pamporovo resort, located 35 km from Devin, is also popular with tourists. The Trigrad Gorge and the Yagodinska Cave are beautiful underground cave formations. Legend says that those who enter the Dyavolskoto Garlo, or the Devil’s Throat Cave, never manage to leave.
The town’s Museum of History, the St. Joan Rilski Church and the eighteenth century St. Georgi Chapel are proud monuments of Devin’s heritage. The region is also popular for its festivals like the Koukeri Festival and the Bagpipe Playing Competition in the village of Gela.
The highlight of Devin cuisine is a potato pie called klynn and a spring dish called banitza, made of rice, milk, butter and spinach.
The only public transport available here is the slow bus system that is testament to the slow and therapeutic lifestyle of the city.
