Bulgaria has a highly developed economy with industries and telecommunication dominating it. Share of agriculture to the economy has declined with industries playing the most important role. Bulgaria joined the European Union on 1 January 2007. Visitors can avail of the numerous, hotels, monasteries, guest houses, villas and myriad of other options for spending nights in low budget places. Bus is the cheapest as well as the fastest way of travelling around the country.
