Bulgarian cuisine is quite similar to that of Greece and Turkey. Grilled meat, stews and salads form an important part the Bulgarian meal. Kashkaval and white Sirene are the local varieties of cheese that is worth trying. Fast food is also available very easily.

Ayrian and Boza are the two popular non-alcoholic drinks in the country. Rakia, a strong grape brandy, is the national drink of Bulgaria. Mastika, Melnik and Pamid are some of the important drinks in the country.
