Biograd na Moru, in northern Croatia, is located on the Adriatic Sea coast. It is a well known tourist resort dating back to the 1920s.
It is located on a peninsula surrounded by the Soline and Bošane bays and over looks the sea strait of the Pašman Canal and the islands of Planac and Sveta Katarina. The temperature ranges from 7°C in January to 24°C in July. Summer is the best time to visit Biograd.
Historically, the city flourished under the rule of the Croatian kings in the eleventh century. The city was badly damaged during the Venetian-Turkish wars and later in the Croatian War of Independence.
The city has a distinct Mediterranean feel with its numerous villas, apartments, family houses and boarding houses. With a population of around 6,000, Biograd is an ideal seaside holiday destination.
