The eleventh century Basilica of St. John is the only monument that survived the Venetian-Turkish war. The Parish Church of St. Anastasia, the Romanesque Church of St. Anthony and the Church of St. Rocco are later monuments that still stand in their complete glory.
Sports enthusiasts will also have their hands full. Besides swimming in the clear waters of the Adriatic, visitors can indulge in a variety of water sports like water skiing, beach volleyball and diving.
The nature parks of Velebtiy Paklenica and the Krka Waterfalls offer a breathtaking experience of nature’s untouched beauty. Excursions can be taken to the Kornati Archipelago as well as to the nearby Telaščica Nature Park. Fishing excursions can also be arranged to the Vransko Lake, the largest lake in Croatia.
While there are numerous restaurants, Biograd specialises in Dalmatian cuisine, so be sure to indulge in the hams, the seafood and the Dalmatian wines.
