Hvar is the town of a unique cultural and historical heritage but also an important
tourist resort with a centuries-old tradition in tourism.
Main attractions are
pleasant climate, a lot of sunshine, natural be-auties, various accommodation
facilities, gastronomic offer, sports and recreational opportunities, etc. Hvar
is frequented both in the summer and winter months, and its very special climate
favo-ured the development of health tourism.
The so-called Hygiene Society was
established in Hvar as early as 1868; the major task of the society was to take
good care of the visitors from abroad. This marked the beginning of tourist
development. The first hotel, Empress Elisabeth, was opened in 1903.

Original Mediterranean experience, untouched nature, crystal sea, little bays when you can be alone,great local food - specially fish, good wine - lovely vineyards and beautiful landscape through island. Place you have to visit! Not only the town of Hvar, there are lovely places on the whole island such as Stari Grad, Vrboska, Jelsa, Pitve.

It was great, cristal clear sea, crazy nightlife, amazing food, small islands in front of town are just amazing, rent a boat with a skipper to see them, and croatian chiks are like models :) I'm just saying "I'l be back". ;)

We loved it. Very good value for money compared to countries in the Euro zone. Hvar has a lot of lovely restaurants that are affordable and the fish is just delicious.
