Pakostane, in Croatia, is located in the centre of the Adriatic coast directly between the sea and the Vransko Jezero Lake. An important town in the Zadar County, it is situated 6 km from Biograd na Moru and 41 km north-west of Sibenik..
The islets of Babuljas, Veli Skolj and Sveta Justina cut into the harbour. The proximity to the sea and the year-long breeze gives Pakostane a mild Mediterranean climate. Temperatures ranges from 5°C in January to 25°C in July making summer is the best time to plan a visit.
The 3,884 inhabitants of Pakostane are predominantly engaged in farming, fishing and tourism related services. Remnants of Roman villas, especially by the sea, are evidence of its long history. One of the branches of the Roman waterworks was directed to Pakostane and the remains can still be seen lying in the sea.
