Tourist Guide Pula
Pula is situated at the southern tip of the peninsula of Istria, in north-western Croatia. The city lies below seven hills on a wide bay with a naturally protected port.
It is the largest city in the region with 62,000 inhabitants and has been the centre of administration of Istria since ancient Roman times. From the 19th century until World War I, Pula was the headquarters of the Austro-Hungarian Navy.
The region is famed for its mild climate, unspoilt nature and calm sea. The city’s traditional industries are wine making and fishing, and incresingly today, tourism.
